Being in an offside position does not constitute an offence in Football.
When is a Player in an Offside Position?
A player is in an offside position in Football when two situations are encountered:

Any part of his head, body or feet that is in the opponent’s half of the field (excluding the halfway line);
-
Any part of his head, body or feet that is closer to the opponents’ goal line than the ball and the second last opposing player.
Important!
The hands and arms of the players, including the goalkeepers, are not considered to characterize an offside position.

Not an Impediment Position
A player will not be in an offside position when he is in line with:

The ball;
-
The penultimate opponent;
-
The last two opponents.
