prepared an illustrated summary of the history of volleyball in Brazil, the origin of volleyball in Brazil, how it arrived in Brazil, the evolution of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dicaseducacaofisica.info\/en\/sports\/volleyball\/\">volleyball<\/a> in Brazil and the main titles won by the Brazilian men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s volleyball teams.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_origins_of_volleyball_in_Brazil\"><\/span>The origins of volleyball in Brazil<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<div id=\"attachment_768\">\n<p>The history of Brazilian volleyball has two divergent versions. The first version says that volleyball arrived in Brazil in 1915 and was first played at the Marist College in Pernambuco. The other version says that volleyball arrived in Brazil in 1916, being played for the first time at the Associa\u00e7\u00e3o de Crist\u00e3os e Mo\u00e7os de S\u00e3o Paulo.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Evolution_of_Volleyball_in_Brazil\"><\/span>The Evolution of Volleyball in Brazil<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In the 1940s and 1950s, there was no exchange between Brazil and other more developed volleyball countries. At the 1956 Men&#8217;s World Cup, the Brazilian team didn&#8217;t know some basic volleyball fundamentals, such as the headline. <\/p>\n<p>Brazil had a low average height compared to other countries, around 1.80 meters, while the average height of the sport&#8217;s powerhouses at that time was around 1.90 meters.<\/p>\n<p>In the 1950s, the creation of the Volleyball School by Jorge Bittencourt, or Jorginho, contributed greatly to the technical development of Brazilian volleyball.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dicaseducacaofisica.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/hist%C3%B3ria-do-voleibol-no-brasil.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dicaseducacaofisica.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/hist%C3%B3ria-do-voleibol-no-brasil.jpg\" alt=\"The History of Volleyball in Brazil\" width=\"640\" height=\"300\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"History_of_Volleyball_in_Brazil_in_the_40s_and_50s\"><\/span>History of Volleyball in Brazil in the 40s and 50s<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>1944 saw the 1st Brazilian Championship<\/li>\n<li>1954 the <a href=\"http:\/\/2017.cbv.com.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV)<\/a> was founded<\/li>\n<li>1955 saw the 1st South American Championship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Curiosity_about_the_History_of_Volleyball_in_Brazil\"><\/span>Curiosity about the History of Volleyball in Brazil<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>In the 1950s, volleyball was rarely practiced by men in Brazil. There was a perception that volleyball was a sport for women, with effeminate gestures. To the point where the &#8216;breaking&#8217; of the wrist to make the cut was only suitable for women. Despite this totally prejudiced idea, it helped the development of Women&#8217;s Volleyball in Brazil.  <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Volleyball_in_Brazil_in_the_1960s\"><\/span>Volleyball in Brazil in the 1960s<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dicaseducacaofisica.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/hist%C3%B3ria-do-voleibol-no-brasil-capa.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dicaseducacaofisica.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/hist%C3%B3ria-do-voleibol-no-brasil-capa.jpg\" alt=\"History of Volleyball in Brazil\" width=\"690\" height=\"470\"><\/a>In the 1960s, Brazilian volleyball won fifth place at the Men&#8217;s World Cup in Rio de Janeiro. In 1964, Brazil&#8217;s men&#8217;s team came 7th in their Olympic debut. <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"History_of_Volleyball_in_Brazil_in_the_1970s\"><\/span>History of Volleyball in Brazil in the 1970s<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In the 1970s, Brazilian volleyball evolved a lot, especially in terms of physical preparation.<\/p>\n<p>In 1975, there was a major modernization in the management of the CBV &#8211; the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation &#8211; when Carlos Nuzman took over as president.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Volleyball_in_Brazil_in_the_1980s\"><\/span>Volleyball in Brazil in the 1980s<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p align=\"left\">In the 1980s, Brazil began to achieve significant results on the world volleyball stage.
