soccer fields to practice the sport. Several formations were tried, until they reached the number of 5 players per team.<\/p>\n<h2 align=\"left\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"History_of_Futsal_in_Brazil\"><\/span>History of Futsal in Brazil<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"left\">In S\u00e3o Paulo\/Brazil in the 1950s, <span lang=\"pt-BR\">Mr.<\/span> Habib Maphus was responsible for the elaboration of norms for the practice of Futsal\/<span lang=\"pt-BR\">Indoor Football<\/span>, in addition to founding the Football League of the YMCA.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Still in the 1950s, the Metropolitan <span lang=\"pt-BR\">Indoor Football League<\/span> was founded, currently the <span lang=\"pt-BR\">Rio de Janeiro State Indoor Football Federation<\/span>, the first state federation in Brazil. In the same period, the federation of Minas Gerais and S\u00e3o Paulo of <span lang=\"pt-BR\">Indoor Football<\/span> were created, from then on several state federations were founded in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">In 1957 the Brazilian Sports Confederation (CBD) created the Technical Council of Hall Football Advisors to reconcile differences in rules and discuss the future of Futsal\/<span lang=\"pt-BR\">Indoor Football<\/span> in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Also in 1957 there was the first attempt to create the Brazilian Confederation of <span lang=\"pt-BR\">Indoor Football<\/span>, which was not authorized by the National Sports Council (CND). It was only on June 15, 1979 that the official assembly was held and that founded the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbfs.com.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brazilian Confederation of Indoor Football<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"zxx\">,<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> <span style=\"color: #333333;\">CBFS.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0A remarkable moment in the history of Brazilian Futsal.<\/p>\n<h2 align=\"left\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"South_American_Futsal_Confederation\"><\/span>South American Futsal Confederation<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"left\">In September 1969 in Asuncion, Paraguay, the South American Confederation of <span lang=\"pt-BR\">Indoor football<\/span> was founded, with the presence of representatives of Futsal\/<span lang=\"pt-BR\">Indoor Football<\/span> from Brazil.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">In July 1971 in S\u00e3o Paulo\/Brazil, with representatives from Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia, Peru and Portugal, FIFUSA &#8211; International Federation of Indoor Football was founded.<\/p>\n<h2 align=\"left\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"International_Futsal_Competitions\"><\/span>International Futsal Competitions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"left\">In 1980, the first Pan American Indoor Soccer Championship was held in Mexico, with the participation of Brazil, Mexico, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia and the United States. Brazil was the winner of this competition.<br \/>\nIn 1982 FIFUSA held the first World Championship of <span lang=\"pt-BR\">Indoor Football<\/span>\/Futsal, in S\u00e3o Paulo\/Brazil. Brazil was the first world champion of Futsal\/<span lang=\"pt-BR\">Indoor Football<\/span>, the tournament had the participation of Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Costa Rica, Czechoslovakia, Colombia, Uruguay, Mexico, Italy, Holland and Japan.<br \/>\nIn 1985 the second World Cup of <span lang=\"pt-BR\">Indoor Football<\/span> was held in Spain, again won by Brazil. In 1988, the third World Cup was held in Australia and won by Paraguay.<\/p>\n<h2 align=\"left\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"FIFA_and_Futsal\"><\/span>FIFA and Futsal<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"left\">In 1989 <span lang=\"zxx\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fifa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FIFA <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fifa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8211; <\/a><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fifa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span lang=\"zxx\">T<\/span><span lang=\"zxx\">he <\/span><\/a><span lang=\"zxx\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fifa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Football Federation<\/a><\/span> &#8211; decided to enter the dispute for the control of <span lang=\"pt-BR\">Indoor football<\/span>, creating new rules and changing the name to FUTSAL. In the same year the first FIFA Futsal World Cup was held in Holland.<\/p>\n<h2 align=\"left\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Brazil_in_the_History_of_Futsal\"><\/span>Brazil in the History of Futsal<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"left\">An important moment in the history of Futsal was when Brazil, the greatest power in the world of <span lang=\"pt-BR\">Indoor Football<\/span>, made official its disaffiliation from FIFUSA, joining FIFA and FUTSAL.
